Life
Well, let's see, I'm a freelance court reporter living on 24 acres in Commerce, GA (which was quite a change from a 50x100 foot lot in Grant Park). My long-time partner, John, and I started filing a joint tax return and calling ourselves married once we moved to the country to quiet the unrest created by the idea of two adults "living together." We have 7 dogs and 4 cats (at least at the time of this writing). You might gather that we are great lovers of animals. He's a building inspector and sees loads of abandoned dogs in the neighborhood. Every once in awhile he just has to bring one home. The dogs range from 17 lbs (Ada Potata) to 160 lbs (Big Goofus). Over a period of ten years I have built up a fairly good court reporting clientele, but I was in a fall in 9-04. I have had a good many surgeries since then. say new comes up, but I think I'll go with old goes wrong. I'm sure many of you are running into health problems here and there. At least eventually I will probably get a financial settlement, but it doesn't make it worth it.
I try to remain my cheerful self. Have old friends and new friends who help, not to mention all my pets.
I enjoy building web sites, still read a lot, love movies, and find a good many TV shows that I enjoy (although things get a little bleak during the summer). We finally got a movie theater here in lowly Commerce with six theaters. That has improved my life.
Sometimes it's hard to believe that the Atlanta I grew up in has basically disappeared. I had lots of family there. The older generation has died off and the younger ones moved away. It would be nice if our old neighborhood hadn't been more or less obliterated just to keep up with old friends.
